    O Lord, how many are my foes!
    How many rise and dare oppose!
    They laugh and mock, and then propose
    That God will not deliver me.

    To them, my Lord, I do not yield.
    My Glorious One remains my shield.
    To you I cry, this pray’r I wield.
    You answer from your holy hill.

    I still lie down and go to sleep.
    The Lord sustains, I do not weep.
    Though enemies are thousands deep
    And drawn up here on ev’ry side.

    Arise, O Lord, deliver me!
    With broken teeth the wicked flee.
    From God, my God, come victory,
    And blessing for his people here.

    Lyrics

    Don’t be distressed by evil men

    Or envy those who love their sin.

    Like grass they’ll wither in the sun;

    Like weeds they’ll be mown down and burned.

    Trust in the Lord, love what is good,

    And make his faithfulness your food.

    Delight in him and all his will,

    You’ll find your heart’s desires fulfilled,

    You’ll find your heart’s desires fulfilled.

    Commit your way unto the Lord;

    Trust in the truth of all his words.

    He’ll prove you righteous in his sight,

    Bring forth your justice as the light.

    Rest in the Lord; don’t be distressed

    When men bring wicked schemes to pass.

    Let go of wrath and bitter spite;

    God’s vengeance only will make right,

    God’s vengeance only will make right.

    He'll cut them off in their vile sin;

    And give the earth to humble men.

    The wicked man will lose his place.

    The meek delight before God’s face.

    The wicked plot against just men,

    But Yahweh laughs—he knows their end.

    They draw their blades to slay the poor,

    But they will die by their own swords,

    But they will die by their own swords.

    A righteous life’s worth more than gold,

    For righteous men God will uphold.

    God knows the days of the upright

    And will grant him eternal life.

    He’ll know no shame in days of dread.

    When famine comes, he’ll be well fed.

    But ev’ry wicked man will die.

    God’s foes will perish in the pride,

    God’s foes will perish in the pride.
